WORK SHOPS
Please refer to the bottom of this page on information for Workshop Registration. Each workshop is limited to 15 students, so sign up quickly.

Workshop 1
Intro to the Harold
Justin York
9:30 AM
3 Hours
$15.00
Harvill 210

Learn the beginnings of the Harold, the form created and pioneered by Del Close. Without the Harold there would be no Long-form Improv.

Justin York is awesome and teaches at the Coldtowne Conservatory in Austin, Tx.

Workshop 2
The Breaking Point
Joe Kyle Rogan
12:45 PM
Student Union Memorial Center, Copper Room, 4th floor
2 Hours
$15.00

Most improvisers spend hundreds of hours practicing the openings of scenes... and then wonder why they have trouble finding the conclusion. A strong opening does not guarantee a strong closing. Do your scenes meander without end? Are you frustrated by your teammates editing you at the worst possible times? Suspicious that there's more to it than "the end is in the beginning"? Get ready for a frank and practical approach to bringing your scenes to a clear, strong, and emotionally satisfying closure.

Workshop 3
Smart Gals Do Improv
Tami Nelson
2 PM
3 Hours
$15.00
Harvill 210

This is, essentially, Women's Lib for the female improviser. If you are of the female persuasion than this workshop is for you. No icky boys allowed!

Tami Nelson is awesome and teaches at the Coldtowne Conservatory in Austin, Tx and is a generally kick ass lady in general.
